In the interest of time and because I have come to find readers don’t necessarily want a backstory on every single recipe, I will just get right to the point and say, here is the recipe for the best homemade salsa! It can go on anything and has no weird added ingredients like a lot of the store bought salsa! YAY!
6 roma tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1 half red onion
Handful of cilantro
Salt to taste
In a blender or food processor, add roughly chopped tomatoes, garlic, onion and jalapeño. Mix together on pulse mode a few times until slightly liquified and then add in cilantro, the juice of one lime and salt to your preference. Continue on pulse mode until a light/medium consistency. Pour into airtight bowl or mason jar and chill for 3-4 hours before serving.
Also, DON’T FORGET! Make this as you see fit! This is just a guideline..don’t love garlic? Use less! Like it super spicy? Use more jalapeño! Use your imagination! The only thing I will insist on you doing? Do not substitute the roma tomatoes for any other type. Not only are they the most flavorful tomatoes, they give the salsa its vibrant red color!
